ICRS Fellows Hub: What does it means to be brilliant?
What it means to be brilliant? The ICRS Fellows Hub discussed this question using the Action Learning Format.
During the session Fellows were placed in small groups where individuals were invited to share an issue they are currently grappling with. Questions were then posed to explore the issue and drive a multi-dimensional view and deeper analysis of what was really at the heart of the issue raised. Once the issue had been explained more fully and explored from a variety of angles, the other Fellows in the group shared their personal perspectives and thoughts on steps towards resolution.
The groups then reconvened to share their thoughts on the process. Feedback found that whilst one Fellow may share a personal issue it resonated more widely and that the small groups provided a unique and great space for a safe and honest conversation. It was agreed that having small groups worked best and confidentiality is a key feature to unlocking this powerful approach. Other benefits were highlighted noting the requirement for active listening and linkages to mentoring practice.
It was suggested in future that there could be a balance between suggesting topics within which to apply action learning and an open forum to which Fellows can bring their own issues for discussion. As always the Fellows’ Hub Steering Committee invite feedback and thoughts to help make it as meaningful to members as possible.
The next Fellows’ Hub is being planned to focus on Net Zero.
The Steering Committee wish all a very happy festive period and look forward to reconnecting in the New Year.
NB: Apologies to all Fellows who sought to attend the session but could not gain access. It appears there was a technical issue on the zoom platform. This has since been resolved.
