ICRS Scotland Hub Coffee with Purpose: Sustainable Procurement - How can private sector companies ensure their suppliers are aligned with their values?

“You are the company you keep!”

Supply chains are a vital piece of the sustainability puzzle.  The commitments our businesses make lose impact if our suppliers aren’t aligned with them.  Recently commissioned research by Sodexo, one of the world’s largest companies and a world leader in sustainable sourcing, explored attitudes towards sustainability in the hospitality sector. The research found that the majority of business leaders will now deal with responsible supply chain partners only.

Join us for a discussion with Jayne Nightingale, Head of Responsible Sourcing at Sodexo UK&I, who will provide us with an overview of Sodexo’s sustainable resourcing strategy and share the findings of their research. This will be followed by a facilitated conversation involving all attendees, where we will be exploring two questions below:

  1. With thousands of suppliers in your supply chain, how can we measure D&I in our supply chain; and how do we keep records updated?
  2. How can we encourage SMEs and VCSEs into our supply chains and support them to thrive?  What ideas do people have, what has worked and what hasn’t?

This session is aimed at both sustainability and procurement professionals to help share ideas between the functions. Please invite your colleagues from these functions to join you and attend together.
