Celebrating Living Wage Week
The Living Wage campaign is an independent movement of businesses and people who campaign for the idea that ‘a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay’. The London Living Wage is calculated according to a formula based on the cost of essential goods and services, adjusted every year according to the cost of living and set at a higher rate than the government’s National Minimum Wage (currently £10.75 vs £8.21). The Living Wage Foundation celebrates and recognises the leadership of Living Wage Employers who choose to pay the Living Wage.
As part of Herbert Smith Freehills' ongoing effort to support the Living Wage movement, we invite you to join us on Thursday 12 November at 9:30am for a virtual panel discussion to celebrate Living Wage Week.
During the one hour virtual event, speakers will explore the business benefits of paying all employees a London Living Wage and discuss best practice on becoming an accredited Living Wage Employer. There will also be a short Q&A at the end of the session.
- Laura Gardiner, Executive Director at the Living Wage Foundation.
- David Lockyer, Head of Broadgate at British Land.
- Julie Hutchinson, Deputy Chief Executive at East London Business Alliance.
- Emma Cooke, Head of Citizenship at Herbert Smith Freehills.
Please do join us to be a part of the conversation and in supporting the Living Wage Movement.
