The new appointees come from a range of backgrounds across the CRS sector. As Directors, Jatin, Nadia and Dorothy will bring considerable experience and knowledge to the Board, building on the values of the ICRS and helping individuals and organisations in their mission to do CRS brilliantly.
The ICRS welcomes the new Directors and looks forward to working with them over the coming years.
About the new Board Directors
Jatin is Senior Diversity & Inclusion Manager at global law firm DLA Piper. "I am delighted to have been appointed to the board of the ICRS. The broad CSR, ESG and D&I agendas are at a precipice. So ensuring elements within these agendas do not compete but instead align, so that organisations focus on people and actions, and purpose and impact, is imperative.
I believe the Institute can play a fundamental role by convening professionals and organisations, through thought-leadership, sharing of best practice, and by acting as the one voice of its many members; championing the importance of inclusion and sustainability as one and the same.
Because at the end of the day, changing hearts and minds is important. But doing so that behaviours change, also, is imperative if we are to get close to achieving the SDG’s and the goals our business members have set themselves."
Nadia Al Yafai
Nadia is Head of Mutuality & Impact at Royal London, the UK's largest mutual financial services company. Nadia has significant experience in delivering impactful programmes, alongside CEOs and Boards. She has developed, driven and embedded the overall social impact and community strategy at Royal London. Prior to her role at Royal London, Nadia was Community Engagement Senior Associate at the FCA.
"I’m thrilled to be joining the ICRS’ board at what is a critical moment for the CRS profession. Our profession has never been more relevant to driving societal and environmental impact, and ICRS is really well placed to be the voice of the industry, and its members, shaping and leading on critical issues. Coming from a customer-owned business, I hope to support ICRS with its membership proposition, to continue to build a unique and exciting offer.
I fundamentally believe the trajectory of the CRS professional is to move into more strategic and embedded roles within business, and ICRS can actively support everyone on that journey, from businesses to understand the full value of the roles, to those entering the industry and those in leadership positions.
I’ve really valued ICRS’ role in my career from mentoring to attending fantastic events, to networking and especially being involved in the Aspire hub as a speaker (a highlight of 2020). As a BAME woman, and someone who came into CR as a second career, I truly believe it benefits from diversity of talent.
My door is open, as they say, to hearing from members, and non-members, to make ICRS the leading body for our industry!"
Dr Dorothy Maxwell
Dorothy is Senior Director of Sustainability at Davy. She is a specialist in sustainable business and finance with over twenty years’ experience working in the EU (inc Ireland, UK, Brussels), USA, China and Singapore. Dorothy has worked as a sustainability consultant with Accenture and has been an environmental policy maker at the European Commission and Defra, run her own consultancy The Sustainable Business Group (UK) and been Senior Advisor to HRH The Prince of Wales International Sustainability Unit. She has a PhD Environmental Science from Imperial College London and is a visiting lecturer.
"I have been an ICRS member since it was founded and a Fellow in recent years. I’m committed to evolving my sustainability and ESG expertise in our fast moving field. The ICRS has helped me to do this with its professional CPD and network. I’m delighted to join the board of ICRS and support the future of our profession. I’m also proud to support growing the network through the ICRS Ireland hub launched this summer by Davy Horizons."
